Kaatera, an action-drama Kannada movie, was released in theaters on December 29, 2023. Directed by Tharun Kishore Sudhir, the film features Darshan, Jagapathi Babu, and Radhana Ram in lead roles. Produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the banner of Rockline Entertainment.

Kaatera marks the third collaboration between Darshan and Tharun after the success of the blockbuster movie Roberrt. Additionally, Radhana Ram makes her debut as a lead actress through Kaatera.

The filmmakers claimed that the movie is based on real events, specifically the events of 1989, when two villages, Bhimanahalli and Mallenahalli, were preparing for a fair. The preparations included welcoming Kateera, who had gone to jail for them and was out on parole for 10 days. During the ploughing of the soil for the fair, mass skeletons of 107 people were unearthed at the same location.
